Born with restless toes, Amruta Jagam started learning Bharatnatyam at the age of four. After 12 years of rigorous professional training she did her arangetram. By then she had obtained extensive knowledge and proficiency in Bharatnatyam under the able guidance of her Guru Sri. Ratheesh Babu. From then there was no looking back. Amruta performed far and wide all over India, abroad and has received nationwide appreciations. She has won multiple National Awards and innumerable honours recognizing her potential and reflecting her talent as an outstanding performer in the country.

She holds a Masters degree (M.A.) in Bharatnatyam from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh. She is a Kovid and an Alankar in Bharatnatyam. She is Visharad in Hindusthani music and is an exponent of Carnatic music as well. She has been a consulting faculty for B.F.A. & M.F.A. students of Nagpur University.

A dancer, a performer and a choreographer, Amruta is instrumental in passing on this rich art form to the younger generation. She also serves as a jury member on many national and international dance competitions.
